Every tricycle on the Kano register is tied to a real, identity-checked person. Here is exactly what you need, what happens to it, and how long it takes.
What it is
Why we verify your identity
KYC — Know Your Customer — means confirming you are who you say you are before a tricycle is registered in your name. It is required for every owner and every driver on the platform.
It matters because a registration is a legal record. It determines who owns a vehicle, who is allowed to drive it, and who is accountable if something goes wrong. Without verification, a stolen tricycle could be re-registered to anyone, and a driver could operate under a name that is not theirs.
Verification is instant in most cases. You enter your NIN, the platform checks it against the national identity database, and your details are filled in automatically — no documents to upload, no waiting for review.

Before you start
Your National Identification Number (NIN)Required
The 11-digit number issued by NIMC. This is the only identity document you need — we read your details straight from the national record.
The phone number linked to your NINRequired
Verification checks your NIN against the phone number registered with it. Keep that line active — it is also how we send payment confirmations.
Your tricycle detailsRequired
Plate number, chassis number, make, model, colour and the local government area where it will operate.
The driver's NINIf applicable
If someone other than you will drive the tricycle, you will need their NIN and phone number so they can be verified too.
Driver's licenceIf applicable
The licence number and expiry date of whoever will drive the vehicle.
Next of kinIf applicable
A name, phone number and relationship for someone we can contact in an emergency.
You do not need to bring printed documents, a passport photograph or a proof of address. Your photograph and details come from the national identity record attached to your NIN.
The process
How verification works
Create an accountSign up with your phone number on this site or in the mobile app. An accredited agent can also do this with you.
Enter your NINType your 11-digit NIN and the phone number registered against it.
Instant checkThe platform queries the national identity database and returns your record in seconds.
Confirm your detailsCheck the name, date of birth and address that come back, then add anything still missing such as your email or next of kin.
Pay and registerOnce verified, generate a payment reference, pay the fee, and register your tricycle.
Collect your documentsYour certificate, permit, stickers and driver ID card become available to print.
What we receive
The details that come back
When your NIN is verified, the national identity database returns the record held against it. We store it as part of your registration:

The verified record takes precedence over anything typed in by hand. If the name on your registration looks different from what you expected, it is because it matches your national identity record — that is the name your documents will carry.

If something goes wrong
Common problems and how to fix them
“This NIN is not registered as a Sufuri agent” or verification simply fails
Check the 11 digits carefully, then confirm the phone number you entered is the one registered against your NIN. If it is not, update it at a NIMC enrolment centre, or use the number that is on record.
The name that comes back is not the name I use
We show the name exactly as NIMC holds it, and your documents will carry that name. If it is genuinely wrong, correct it at a NIMC centre — we cannot change the national record from here.
“A driver with this NIN is already registered”
A NIN can be attached to only one driver record. If you believe someone has used your identity, contact support immediately so we can investigate.
My plate or chassis number is rejected as already registered
Plate, chassis and tricycle numbers are unique to one vehicle. Re-check the characters. If the vehicle really is yours and someone else has registered it, contact support with your proof of ownership.
I paid but my registration has not unlocked
A transfer made without first generating a payment reference does not settle automatically and has to be matched by hand. Send your payment reference or bank receipt to support and we will apply it.
My photograph is missing from my ID card
That happens when a record was created before verification ran. Open the driver record, run the NIN verification, and the photograph is pulled in. A photograph can also be uploaded by hand if the one on file is unusable.
